Dorado promises Betis courage

Jose Dorado has dismissed the notion that Real Betis will hide in their shell against Real Madrid this weekend.

“There will be no hesitant play against Real Madrid,” reaffirmed the defender in response to being asked if the team will hold back when welcoming Los Blancos this Saturday without three of their regular back four available.

Dorado is in contention for involvement this weekend with Damien Perquis, Paulao and Mario all absent.

Despite the difficult week and the difficult task facing the team this weekend, the 30-year-old chose to look on the bright side in assessing the current situation.

“The League table speaks for itself. Everything seems to be clear, but any Betis fan would have signed up before the season to be sixth now with 19 points. However, the players are annoyed because no-one likes to lose 5-1 against their rivals.

“We will look to put it right on Saturday because whilst we will not forget our mistakes, we cannot keep looking back.”

Dorado was asked of Tuesday’s confrontation at training between the players and around 100 angry supporters.

“The fans are wrong if they think that the players are not suffering. We are determined to continue fighting for Betis, against Madrid or anyone.”
