Raul Martin Presa has set Rayo Vallecano the target of maximum points from the next two home games to offer ‘peace of mind’.

Rayo lost their last match 4-0 away to Real Sociedad, but in preparing to welcome Mallorca to Vallecas this Saturday and with Real Zaragoza then visiting in two weeks, Presa is eyeing six points.

“I want to communicate and emphasise that despite last weekend when we lost to Real Sociedad, the season has been good and now we have two games against direct rivals, in tremendously important games at home that can give us peace in the League,” enthused the President first off, before making clear that the club’s current 11th place and 16 points has already made for a relaxed spirit.

“We would have all taken having 16 points at this point, because this gives us peace of mind. You have to be humble, because last year we had to wait for a miracle to save us and this season has barely begun.

“We would like to win nine or 10 more games so as to stay in the League.”

This weekend is the visit of Mallorca, and Presa is promoting an offer of two tickets to the game for €9.95.

“We want to raise awareness to fans that Mallorca is no second rate match, as they are a good team and proof of that is we lost both games last year without scoring a goal.

“Their position in the table is misleading, they have an organised team with international players who can reach Europe.”

The President also addressed reporters with a message that the club will not necessarily be closed for business come the winter transfer market.
