Real Sociedad’s exciting young prodigy Ruben Pardo has expressed his willingness to extend his contract until 2018.

The midfielder is a lifelong fan of the Basque club, and was applauded from the field after Monday’s 4-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano, a game in which he provided two assists.

“I am very happy with the team’s performance and my own,” Pardo commented in an interview with Radio Marca.

“My hair stood on end when the whole crowd cheered me. These issues I leave to my agent, who I trust, but it would be nice to further extend my contract with Real, because this is my home and I am happy. Since I was a ball boy at Anoeta I have dreamed of being in the first team.”

The 20-year-old is not a regular in Philippe Montanier’s side but is remaining patient.

“It’s very nice that people want you to play, but the Coach decides. I have no pressure, just the opposite, I’m very calm. I knew the Coach would end up giving me opportunities, like last year against Barcelona and Sevilla, and this year I have started against Real Mallorca, Malaga and Rayo.”

Pardo ended by looking forward to Friday’s game against Osasuna, which gives La Real the chance to temporarily go fifth.

“We know it’s a very important game and we’ll give everything to get three points and give another great joy to the fans.”
