Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela believes his team has dispelled any doubts following the 4-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Monday.

Vela set the Txuri-urdin on their way with two first-half goals, and the former Arsenal man maintains Philippe Montanier’s men have now turned the corner following a brief flirtation with the relegation places in previous weeks.

“Two weeks ago everyone was saying that Real were a bad team but now we’ve shown them the other side of the coin,” he told a Press conference.

“In our previous two home games we played well and deserved more, but the fans were not entirely happy. Now we have dispelled a lot of doubts and are enjoying ourselves.

“Things are balancing out and now we are not considered the best or the worst, but we try to do everything we can in the best way possible.

“On Friday we have another good opportunity, at Anoeta against Osasuna, when we can get ourselves into a very good position.”
