Michel: Sevilla ‘absolute perfection’

Sevilla boss Michel claimed his side’s first-half performance in the 5-1 thrashing of neighbours Real Betis was ‘absolute perfection’.

Los Rojiblancos raced into a 4-0 half-time lead and despite Michel declaring he was ‘quite happy’ with the overall display, it was the opening 45 minutes that really pleased him.

“All I can do is congratulate my players. I’m incapable of telling you how good the first half was because I saw absolute perfection,” he told gathered media.

“Plans always look good when you win and tonight we showed the potential of this team, which we must now maintain.”

He was also full of praise for two-goal hero Reyes, who has struggled to force his way back into the team after injury.

“He has changed his objectives and trained well from the beginning of the week. In a game such as this he had the greatness to reinvent himself.

“However, I will not speak badly of Betis, only have how good Sevilla were, but this season there is going to be games and minutes for everybody.

“I always say the same thing. When you play at the highest level it is difficult not to speak well of the players, of everyone.

“At half-time I felt a great joy that is very difficult to explain,” he insisted.
