Ronaldo returns after eye injury

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training for Real Madrid, and could be fit enough to face Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.

The Portuguese international had to be replaced at half-time in Los Blancos' trip to Levante on Sunday, having received stitches just above his eye after an elbow to the face from David Navarro.

But despite the 27-year-old being unavailable for his national team in midweek, he could be fit enough to face Marcelo Bielsa's side at Santiago Bernabeu, according to Madrid-based newspaper AS.

The former Manchester United man was instrumental in the capital club's title winning season last time out, playing in every single League game and scoring 46 goals in the process.
