‘Malaga have much to improve’

Manuel Pellegrini admits Malaga have issues that need to be solved, after suffering a second consecutive home defeat.

The Costa del Sol outfit fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Real Sociedad on Saturday evening, to follow up on last week’s home defeat to Rayo Vallecano.

“We have a lot to improve on, but I have a few ideas as solutions,” reflected a more downbeat Pellegrini at yesterday’s post-match Press conference.

“We have dropped six straight points at home because we did not play well in either game. We lacked freshness and clarity of ideas against very tight defences. I also see no chance of further players coming in winter.

“Without playing great games, our opponents have beaten us. I think the emotional aspect has taken its toll. Now we have a week to recover, we will come good. We return to the League in the best possible way.”

The Coach also conceded that two consecutive defeats points to more than just misfortune.

“Once may be a coincidence, but if it is repeated then it is for a reason. We must restore the freshness in which to face our opponents.

“Last week we played better than Rayo Vallecano and in the second half I thought we would win, but it was not to be.”
