Real Sociedad stun Malaga

Goals from Carlos Vela and Xabi Prieto were enough to give Real Sociedad a 2-1 away win against Malaga.

Manuel Pellegrini's men were looking to kick on from that historic Champions League qualification in midweek. But their trip to Milan on Tuesday seemed to have caught up with them, as after just 46 seconds Vela poked home a Diego Ifran cross.

Slowly though, the home side started to get back in the game, and eventually equalised late on in the first half. A corner from Joaquin found Saviola, who rifled in an effort from 12 yards out.

After the break though, Philippe Montanier’s side rallied back and retook the lead through Xabi Prieto, as the captain struck a low shot past Wilfredo Caballero.

Isco and Sergio Sanchez could have got Los Boquerones a share of the points late on, but their efforts were in vein as Real Sociedad got their first away win of the season.
