Iriney trusts in Granada revival

Granada midfielder Iriney is confident his team can halt their recent run of bad form in Friday night’s game with Real Betis.

El Grana currently sit next-to-bottom of La Liga with eight points, having won just two of the opening 10 fixtures, but the Brazilian [pictured, right], who left Betis in the summer to join El Grana, believes it is time his team started to deliver.

“The situation is not easy. We’ve had a bad run and we don’t like losing every week,” he admitted in a Press conference.

“However, that’s football and we must be good professionals. We have to be united and only then will we turn the situation around and start to score goals.”

The experienced 31-year-old also had words of praise for his former club and said he is looking forward to going back to the Benito Villamarin.

“It’s a special game for me because the fans there are great. I will respect their decision and the way in which they receive me.

“Betis are a young side who are up there near the top of the table because they deserve to be.

“They are a young team but we should not have any fear, and naturally we will go there in search of victory,” he added.
