Casillas: We don’t deserve this

Iker Casillas is struggling to understand how and why Real Madrid are suffering in defence in the Champions League this season.

Speaking after the score draw at home to Borussia Dortmund, Casillas reflected on why the team have yet to keep a clean sheet in the competition and already have seven in the goals against column.

“We do not deserve to suffer so much in this competition, in which we are conceding many more goals than we have in the League,” lamented the shot-stopper, who was beaten twice on Tuesday night.

“We must focus on progressing to the next round, where each game played will be important and where we will need to be measured in the goals that we concede.

“We took something positive from the game and deserve to celebrate just an equaliser. You have to look at it positively, although we are not happy with a draw in the last minute.

“We were pushing until the final minute, a more adverse outcome would have greatly complicated our next game in England. Now, if we win at Manchester City, we can progress.”
