Pepe: Dortmund made it difficult

Real Madrid defender Pepe has praised Borussia Dortmund after their 2-2 draw at Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

The Portuguese centre-back scored in the first half, but Los Blancos had Mesut Ozil to thank as he fired in a last minute free-kick to earn Jose Mourinho's men a hard-fought draw.

And the 29-year-old has congratulated the German side for their efforts, as well as commending his teammates.

“They are an excellent team,” he told reporters after the game. “They like to play football, so it's been a very hard match for us.

“The second half we dominated, but they are a very difficult group, but we just kept on working.

“We still have Manchester City to play, so we have to believe in ourselves to win the group.”
