Mendilibar won’t resign following loss

Jose Luis Mendilibar has denied to comment on whether he could be sacked following Osasuna's 1-0 loss to Real Valladolid.

A late Robert Ebert goal was enough to condemn the hosts to their seventh loss of the season, but the 51-year-old has admitted he is not concerned about rumours he could be on his way out of the club.

“I'm not thinking about that,” he told a Press conference. “I won't resign, but if the President wants to sack me, that's up to him. I'll remain calm. I only care about the team.”

He did however comment on the loss to Miroslav Djukic's men.

“I think we played well,” he said. “But for whatever reason we weren't successful. I cannot say I'm happy because we lost, but I'm happy with how my team has played.”
