Caparros positive after Depor draw

Real Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros remained positive after seeing his team draw 1-1 with Deportivo de La Coruna at Riazor.

The Islanders had Pedro Geromel’s late header to thank for securing a share of the spoils in their first leg Copa del Rey clash, and Caparros maintained it was still all to play for when the sides meet in the return leg.

“It was a classic Cup match between two teams that have found it difficult in La Liga recently. It’s still anybody’s tie and we’ll be fighting for it back in Palma,” he told a Press conference

“There were no clear-cut chances created. Their goal was a lucky header and ours came from a corner, but that was about it.”

However, Caparros was pleased his players had finally brought to an end a run of four successive defeats, all of them in La Liga.

“We’ve broken the bad spell and we did it with one more tool in our box, the ability to come from behind.

“You know me, I’m always positive and you have to look on the positive side.”

Los Bermellones face Depor at Riazor again on Sunday and the Andalusia-born Coach is already looking forward to it.

“It’s an important game for both teams are among 14 or 15 sides that could finish between eighth and 20th,” he declared.
