Pepe Mel has remained optimistic even after his Real Betis side lost 1-0 to Real Valladolid in the Copa del Rey.

The Verdiblancos went down to an early Alberto Bueno goal, but the 49-year-old Coach has admitted that the match is still wide open with the second-leg to come next month.

“We're not far off,” he told a Press conference. “There's still 90 minutes to play in Sevilla and I think that game will be very good for us.

“In tonight's match we had more of the ball, better tempo, but just couldn't finish. I think a draw would have been a fair result.”
