Pochettino thoughts on Sociedad

Espanyol Coach Mauricio Pochettino admits he goes into the Copa del Rey clash against Sevilla with one eye on Anoeta.

The Parakeets, who have improved their form lately but still lie second bottom in La Liga, begin their cup campaign at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan tomorrow before travelling to face Real Sociedad on Sunday.

“We can't help thinking that on Sunday we have an important match,” Pochettino stated at a press conference. “We must try to manage the group to put out two line-ups that are competitive.

“I intend to give minutes to those that have played less often, so that everyone feels important.”

But whilst he conceded fringe players will play, the Argentine was non-committal when asked if one of them would be seldom seen midfielder Simao.

“He's available and might have a chance. We'll see if Felipe Mattioni can feature, but it's important he's recovered fully. Juan Albin? I don't know what's wrong, he feels discomfort every time he recovers. There's no scientific explanation.”
