Campbell impressed with Betis start

Real Betis striker Joel Campbell admits he has been impressed by the start his team has made to the season.

The Costa Rican international is on a season-long loan from Arsenal and has helped the Andalusians to fifth place in the table following the 1-0 win over Valencia at the weekend.

“The players are aware things are going well but we must take things step by step. We must think about the present and that is the next game against Getafe,” he told a Press conference on Monday.

“I know I can bring a lot more to the team personally and I have to take advantage of my opportunities. I try not to take anything for granted but this is a good chance for me.

“The team is playing as well as possible and we hope to continue like that.”

The 20-year-old was asked whether he would like to make the move to Spain a permanent one.

“I’m only thinking of now and that is Betis, so I respect the team I’m with. This club opened the door for me and made it possible for me to play in La Liga.

“I just want to give the maximum for Betis but you never know what will happen with regard to next season,” he declared.
