Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is hoping for an extended run in Jose Mourinho’s team after the 5-0 win over Real Mallorca.
The French youngster impressed alongside Pepe at the centre of the Madrid defence and is banking on it being the start of a more permanent role in the side.
“It was a tough match to begin with but we did what we needed to do to win. The Coach gives me confidence and I hope to keep on playing well and helping team.
“I think I did very well and had the added benefit of playing with Pepe. The team felt good and we must keep on going as we are,” Varane told Real Madrid’s official website.
“We got three points and have to continue like that. We only need to think of ourselves and not Barcelona. It is a difficult League but we must fight to win every match,” he insisted.
