Ramos admits Madrid injury concern

Sergio Ramos has admitted he is not firing on all cylinders at Real Madrid due to a persistent back injury.

The Spanish international played in the 5-0 defeat of Real Mallorca on Sunday but said afterwards that he might not have done so if boss Jose Mourinho had been able to call on a full complement of players.

“I’m not 100 per cent fit and I’m playing with an injury right now. However, I need to adapt to the situation because we have a lot of players out through injury,” he told a Press conference.

As for the victory over Joaquin Caparros’ men, Ramos believed it was Los Blancos’ attacking power that was the determining factor in such an emphatic win.

“The match was more difficult than the result suggests but we were very assertive right from the start.

“We have players who can score at any time and it was like that today. On top of that I have to praise the way in which the whole team worked.,” he added.
