Mou: Dortmund a difficult opponent

Jose Mourinho has praised Borussia Dortmund ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League tie on Wednesday with the German champions.

The Portuguese Coach has admitted that the Bundesliga winners will pose a tough proposition, and hinted at the historical difficulties Los Blancos have had in Germany.

“It will be a difficult game against a very difficult opponent,” he told a Press conference. “Madrid rarely win in Germany because it is really tough to win here.

“There are no psychological issues here, it is just hard to play against tough teams.”

He also commented on the recent injury set-backs to Fabio Coentrao, Marcelo and Alvaro Arbeloa.

“I do not want to talk about the casualties,” he said. “We are a team, and we have players that are fit to play. I chose Michael Essien to play [at left-back] in the last game. He is a professional, and was the best solution for that match.”

The former Chelsea man concluded by appraising the season so far – both domestically and in Europe.

“We didn't start well in the League, and we lost points as a result. But we are winning games. In the European Cup we have six points, and that's crucial.

“We are ready for tomorrow without me having to motivate the players – playing in Europe should be motivation enough.”
