Michel praises Sevilla composure

Sevilla boss Michel praised his players’ composure following the 3-2 victory over Real Mallorca at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

The Andalusians had to come from behind twice to claim victory and the Madrid-born Coach put it down to the attitude shown by his team.

“We worked hard for the win and managed to remain calm against a defence as populated as Mallorca’s.

“My players showed they have great character, the sign of a good team. Not all sides would have come back after what happened today,” he told a Press conference.

“We will have to experience situations like this at times, when nothing went right for us during the first half, but after that we subjected Mallorca to some extreme pressure.

“We are fifth, not having been out of that area of the table all season, and after the setback at Celta Vigo I think this will have reassured our fans.”

Michel also mentioned Argentine defender Federico Fazio, who was at fault for Mallorca’s second goal and was criticised by a section of the home supporters.

“Fazio recovered from that possible error and the majority of fans understood the part he played in the second half. Other players would have shrunk but he didn’t,” he explained, before commenting on the absence of Jose Antonio Reyes.

“The truth is that Reyes is trying hard [to get into the team] but there are others who are also struggling. There is no punishment,” he added.
