Cicinho seals sensational Sevilla comeback

Sevilla came from behind twice at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to record a thrilling 3-2 win over Real Mallorca!

Both teams were missing key men and hoping to recover from slumps in form. Andreu Fontas and Giovani dos Santos made their first starts for Mallorca, the latter having criticised Sevilla earlier today for stringing him along on the transfer market.

It was a big game personally for Islanders Coach Joaquin Caparros, who was in charge at the Pizjuan from 2000 till 2005.

Mallorca took a shook lead in the 25th minute, Pedro Bigas flicking a long ball past the onrushing Andres Palop and shepherding the bouncing ball into the net.

The Rojiblancos made it 1-1 three minutes later when Alvaro Negredo launched a powerful but precise finish into the top left corner but amazingly, the visitors restored their lead almost immediately.

Again a long ball paid dividends, Tomer Hemed the beneficiary this time, calmly rolling a low shot across Palop.

Sevilla equalised again ten minutes after the break and it was classic Negredo, the burly striker powering in a header from Cicinho's nicely weighted cross.

The comeback was complete in the 75th minute, Cicinho getting his own name on the scoresheet with a volley from the edge of the box that bounced into the bottom corner with Dudu Aouate frozen still.
