Rayo Vallecano have decided not to charge their season ticket holders extra for the forthcoming match against Barcelona.
Since returning to the top flight Rayo have adopted a controversial policy of charging fans extra when the likes of Barca and Real Madrid visit the Campo de Vallecas. The policy was suggested to have been what motivated the sabotage at the stadium last month, when the Franjirrojos game against Real was postponed for 24 hours after vandals cut electricity cables.
The club announced the decision on their website today.
“We are pleased to inform our subscribers and and the general public that the match against Barcelona at Campo de Vallecas is not allocated as a day to help the club.”
League leaders Barca visit Vallecas this Saturday.
