No Sevilla return for Fabiano

Former Sevilla hero Luis Fabiano has expressed his fondness for the club but denied a return is on the cards.

Fabiano scored 72 goals in 149 appearances for the Rojiblancos between 2005 and 2011. Now aged 31, he is experiencing a dramatic renaissance in his homeland. The striker is the top scorer in the Brazilian League with 14 goals for Sao Paolo this season.

“Sevilla have called to see how I am and to congratulate me because they know I'm scoring goals,” he is quoted as saying by Diario de Sevilla.

“We have a courtship, but my family is happy here and we have only just adapted again.”

Fabiano was a key player for Sevilla in his time at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, playing an integral role in their back-to-back UEFA Cup triumphs in 2006 and 2007.
