Yaya Toure back to Spain?

Former Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure is today the subject of transfer speculation in Spain as Manchester City continue to delay contract talks.

The Ivory Coast international left the Camp Nou for Eastlands in summer 2010 for a reported £24m, but is now being linked with a move out of the Premier League champions.

This is based on growing speculation that his club are not prepared to renegotiate his current contract, which expires in June 2015 and currently pays him a base rate of £150,000 a week, which rises to above £220,000 a week after bonuses.

Sport have returned to quotes from his agent released in May, which stated he was after a new challenge and ‘hoped’ that Barcelona would be interested, by suggesting that the 29-year-old is looking for an exit.

Toure’s teammates David Silva and Vincent Kompany have both recently been handed new contracts by the Manchester club.
