Pedro delighted with life under Tito

Barcelona forward Pedro has praised boss Tito Vilanova following the club's impressive start to the season.

The Balugrana are unbeaten in their first seven games, and top La Liga with 19 points. But the 25-year-old attacker has hinted there is more still to come from the Catalan club, whilst also commending the Coach on his work so far.

“For four years Guardiola guided us, now Vilanova is here,” he told El Pais. “Tito has followed the same line of thought, and everything has continued as normal. Each of them has their own personality, but I've known the Coach for many years and he is a great guy.

“I have learned a lot this season. Pep wanted perfection for four years, and Tito is being equally demanding this year. Every day I am learning something new.”

The Spain international also commented on the club's relatively disappointing campaign in 2011-12, the threat posed by Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid this year and his role in the side going forward.

“It was a tough year,” he said. “It was hard for everyone. But we will compete well this season. I suffered an injury, and was in a bad place. In Barcelona, it is very difficult to play, but Pep gave me an opportunity to get back in the side, and look where I am now. He and Tito have changed my life. I got a chance, and it taught me a lot.

“Barcelona and Real Madrid are two different teams. They seek to counter-attack, and we want control of the game. Each has their own style, but both are the best two teams in the world.

“Atletico are playing well and have a lot of confidence. They have great players. The League is a lot more difficult than some people believe. Each game is really hard.

“My job in the team is to help in any way possible. Other players in the team usually make the difference, but I am happy with this role. My game is to work, help in defence, try to score goals, give shorts passes and make long runs. I work for the team. I've been taught that from a young age.”
