Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has hailed Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas as 'the best in the world'.

The 25-year-old has praised his El Clasico rival, just a week after scoring a double against the Spain captain in a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.

“I've been lucky enough to score a lot of goals in the Clasicos,” he told C5N. “Which are always tough and difficult games.

“I am very happy with all of them, because Iker is the best goalkeeper in the world. He is great.”

Messi has scored a total 17 goals in all competitions against Real Madrid, one behind current record-holder Alfredo Di Stefano.
