Real Sociedad midfielder Markel Bergara has signed a new deal keeping him with the Basque club till 2016.
The 26-year-old signed the new contract in the presence of President Jokin Aperribay this morning before training.
“I'm thrilled to be staying with the team I've always wanted,” Bergara told the club's official website.
“I have not peaked, I have the feeling I can contribute a lot. I hope to complete a nice season, both personally and on a group level.”
“This gives us continuity,” sporting director Lorenzo Juarros commented. “We want to count on as many home-grown players as possible. Markel is having a strong presence this season.”
