Krankl: I don’t like Mourinho

Barcelona legend Hans Krankl has commented on Sunday’s El Clasico and says he does not like Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

The Austrian played for La Blaugrana between 1978 and 1981, having been signed from Rapid Vienna after impressing for his country in the Argentina World Cup, and revealed he is sick of Mourinho’s constant complaints about match officials.

“The referee did not influence the result. There is always something wrong for Mourinho and I never like what he complains about.

“If he loses or doesn’t win he always complains about the referees. For me, he can be very happy with the team he has. He is a very good Coach but as a person I do not like him,” Krankl told La Xarxa.

He also thought his old club deserved to win El Clasico.

“I felt Barca were unlucky because they were the better team. Madrid were good, especially in the first half, but with a little bit of fortune Barca could have won.

“Even so, things remain the same and the difference is still eight points.”

In Krankl’s view the 2-2 draw even underlined the fact that Tito Vilanova’s team is stronger than Mourinho’s, and he was also in no doubt who is the world’s best footballer.

“Barca are the best team in the world right now and Real Madrid are the second. They are the two strongest but Barca are still the best.

“As for the world’s best player the little God [Lionel Messi] is better than Cristiano, who is second. Cristiano is very, very good and a great player, but Messi is better.”
