Barcelona winger Pedro said after the 2-2 draw with Real Madrid that the referee had made the correct decisions.

Both sided complained after the game that they should have been awarded penalties, but Pedro told Gol TV it is only to be expected that referees make mistakes in a high-pressure game such as El Clasico.

“He was right. It’s normal that he could make some mistakes in a game like this,” said the 25-year-old, who had a chance towards the end that could have sealed all three points for the Catalans.

“It was a good opportunity to put us in front and get the win so it was a shame to miss it, but we can’t do anything about it now.

“However, we always trusted ourselves to come back. It was difficult to create chances but we always had the ball.

“We were just the same as always and are happy that the gap between ourselves and Madrid is the same, so we must continue as we are.”
