Busquets: Madrid a great team

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets admits it is surprising to see Real Madrid eight points behind at this early stage.

Busquets and his Barca teammates take on Real on Sunday in the season's first Clasico, hoping to consolidate their strong start and gain revenge for the Super Cup defeat in August.

“It is surprising to see Madrid eight points behind,” the midfielder, who was sent off against Benfica midweek, commented in an interview with Quatro.

“But the League still has a long way to go and they are able to win many points in a row. Madrid are a great team and can win any game. Last year they had an impressive run, and that can be repeated.”

Busquets believes teammates Lionel Messi and Xabi are both worthy of the Ballon d'Or.

“Messi is the best player in the world, the most dominant, the player that has all the records. Xavi also deserves the golden ball.”
