Christian Poulsen believes Real Madrid are the best team in the world and go into Wednesday’s match with Ajax back at their top level.
Jose Mourinho’s side endured a difficult start to their League campaign, but former Sevilla man and current Ajax midfielder Poulsen believes that they are now back to their best.
“They are the best team in the world. They did have a poor spell, yes, but not anymore,” he said at today’s conference.
“They are back to their level. In terms of capacity and experience, the better team is Real Madrid. We will have to play as we know and hope.”
Poulsen took that point further in reiterating that the Dutch do need a result, because they lost their opening match to Borussia Dortmund.
“We have to take more steps forward. We did many things right in Dortmund but the fact is that we have zero points.
“The next step is to obtain good results. We must believe in ourselves and have hope that our team can do enough to progress to the next stage.”
