Reyes assessed for Sevilla

Jose Antonio Reyes could be in line for an immediate return to first team action next weekend, as he continues his recovery from injury.

The attacking winger has been out of action since late August with a sprained shoulder sustained against Granada.

The injury has taken longer than the initial three weeks for the player to recover from and whilst he has been back in full training for a few days, Michel has been reluctant to use him for his lack of physical fitness.

However, Sevilla are reportedly keen to assess his condition today with a view to involving him in Friday’s trip to Celta Vigo.

This is because Piotr Trochowski is a doubt after suffering a knee injury against Barcelona on Saturday and Gary Medel and Ivan Rakitic face suspension. Medel was sent off for a headbutt against Cesc Fabregas, whilst Rakitic has already picked up five bookings, which should trigger a single game ban, due to be confirmed later this week.

It is a situation that leaves Coach Michel, also due to face a suspension for being sent to the stands at the weekend, without three members of his regular midfield, so the expectation is that Reyes will be back.
