Luis Garcia Plaza is delighted with the performance his Getafe players showed on Monday, saying they should have beaten Mallorca by as much as 3-0.
The Madrid side defeated 10-man Mallorca 1-0 to end the visitors’ unbeaten start to the season and to move away from the lower end of the table.
“I’m very happy. In the end we suffered because they are one of the best teams at set pieces,” acknowledged Plaza afterwards.
“They barely reached our goal though, except for from dead ball situations. Every corner and every free-kick, they are the best team in the League.
“But if they were to have equalised in the end then it would have been unfair. We deserved a greater scoreline and I am very happy with the attitude of the players.
“It could have been 3-0 or a draw with that style of play, but we still deserved to win. Whilst it was similar the other day, against Celta Vigo we deserved to lose, but here we deserved to win.”
