Courtois back in Atleti fold

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois trained normally on Friday evening and will be available for Sunday’s game with Espanyol.

Courtois missed Wednesday’s 4-2 victory over Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin though injury and was replaced by Sergio Asenjo.

However, the Belgian international has now fully recovered from a problem with his left knee and will be back in contention to regain his place at Cornella El-Prat against Mauricio Pochettino’s strugglers.

There was further good news for Atleti boss Diego Simeone with Uruguayan defender Diego Godin also back in training after being force to retire at half-time against Betis in some discomfort.

Striker Radamel Falcao, another who had to leave the pitch during the clash with Los Beticos, did some work in the gymnasium with fitness Coach Oscar Pitillas but remains a doubt.

In addition, Tunisian youngster Kader Queslati was back training with the first team after breaking his collarbone in August following an accidental collision with Cebolla Rodriguez.
