Heading into the Basque derby this weekend, Athletic Bilbao will reportedly be able to count on Gorka Iraizoz and Oscar De Marcos’ availability.
Goalkeeper Iraizoz was a late withdrawal from Athletic’s match last Sunday at home to Malaga after injuring his knee in training, whilst De Marcos has been struggling in recent days with a tight hamstring.
However, both were back to full training today and are believed available for selection for the derby trip to Real Sociedad.
Even so, Marcelo Bielsa apparently used neither in his perceived first XI plans in today’s session, with Raul Fernandez placed in goal ahead of Iraizoz and Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta continuing work in De Marcos’ usual position in midfield.
