Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay has defended Philippe Montanier, calling for the Coach to be given 'patience and confidence.'

Montanier's side slipped down to 13th in the standings after yesterday's 2-1 loss at Levante. La Real have a 100 per cent record at home but have lost all three away fixtures this season.

“There are things to improve,” Aperribay stated at a press conference to announce a new sponsorship deal.

“It is time to work hard. I know that some think the Coach is not the most ideal, but we must trust, we can go very far with Montanier.”

The patron then turned to next weekend's Basque derby against Athletic Bilbao at Anoeta.

“The other games are in the past, now we will prepare well for the derby, and hopefully after the game, our fans come out with smiles on their faces.”
