Fresh off the back of scoring his first goal for the club, Obafemi Martins declares that he wants to outperform Arouna Kone at Levante.
Kone, now at Wigan Athletic, top scored for Los Granotes last term with 17 goals in all competitions, and it is a target new signing Martins has now set.
“I hope to outperform Kone at Levante,” declared the former Inter forward when asked of his match-winning goal today.
“In my first practice with the team I saw that Levante are not a club as small as some may think and I’m very happy to be here.”
The player also thanked his new teammates for welcoming him to the club and pointed out that one of them had explained to him that the ‘bravo, negro’ chants aimed at him after scoring his goal were done so ‘in a loving way’.
