Paulao out for at least two weeks

Real Betis will have to do without defender Paulao for at least the next two rounds of League action, after he suffered a sprained ankle yesterday.

The 30-year-old scored his team’s goal in their 1-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday, but was later forced off after a heavy challenge from Wakaso.

Team doctor Tomas Calero confirmed today that the Brazilian has likely suffered a grade II sprain on his ankle, which going by previous cases, will mean he is out for up to two weeks.

That means that Paulao will miss Los Beticos’ rearranged midweek fixture with Atletico Madrid and then Week 6’s trip to Malaga.
