Pellegrino: Valencia not quite right

Valencia Coach Mauricio Pellegrino says he is content with his side’s narrow 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo, even if they were far from convincing.

“The result helps us move forward, despite the fact we were not quite right,” asserted the 40-year-old tactician, in stressing that his team must improve.

“We could not counter their work in the beginning, but the situation changed from the beginning of the second half and we improved from there.”

The Argentine boss was particularly impressed with the club visiting the Mestalla and ended his post-match interview by commenting on their Champions League fixture with Bayern Munich in midweek.

“You have to evaluate all 22 players, and not only XI and they have quality people who bothered us a lot in the first half.

“The team will be in good condition to travel to Munich on Wednesday, after days of travel and working with different national teams.”
