Aouate: We must respect Osasuna

Real Mallorca goalkeeper Dudu Aouate says Los Bermellones must show Osasuna the utmost respect in their game on Sunday.

The Islanders lie second in the table, two points behind leaders Barcelona, but Aouate says the match against Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men will prove a stern test of their character.

“We will be facing a very good team that has still not got their first points this season, but we know that with Osasuna, particularly at home, we will need to give them the utmost respect,” the Israeli told assembled reporters.

“The atmosphere inside their stadium also makes it very difficult. Before the break we were on a good run and we have to keep that up.

“If we go out against Osasuna with any doubts then we could come unstuck, but we know what it will be like and we have prepared in the best manner possible,” said the Israeli international.

Aouate added that he personally always does well against the Pamplona club, having tasted victory there with Racing Santander and Deportivo de La Coruna, and is hoping his lucky streak against Los Rojillos continues this weekend.
