Torje foresees win and games

Eager to play more for his team, Gabriel Torje has said that Granada can ‘comfortably’ beat Deportivo de La Coruna this weekend, if they ‘do things right’.

After three games of the season played, the Andalucians have only the one point to their name and only the pointless Espanyol and Osasuna below them in the table.

Romanian Torje, on a year-long loan from Udinese, is not panicking, and believes the team can beat this weekend’s visitors Depor.

“We will win comfortably against Deportivo, if we do things right. We have to go out to win because the game is at home and the fans demand victory,” he told reporters today.

“We played well against Rayo and Sevilla and deserved to win both games. It is important to win. The opponent is not on my mind, my team are, if we play well, I am sure we will win.”

Torje was speaking after returning from international duty this week, where from two games, he provided two assists and scored two goals. He has yet to start a game for his new club.

“I have already trained today and will do so again tomorrow and Saturday. If I play against Deportivo then I will be happy, but if not then I will keep working.

“It is important to start playing bit by bit as in Italy I played a lot at the start and then little more.

“I’ve done well with my national team and now I want to do well with Granada. I have time to prove what sort of player I am and I intend to try.”
