‘Barca can drop points at Getafe’

Alvaro Vazquez is optimistic that Getafe can repeat their feat of beating Real Madrid at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez when Barcelona visit this weekend.

The Catalans roll into town on Saturday evening with three wins from three and top of the table.

However, Vazquez sees a Getafe side motivated and capable of repeating Week 2’s win against rivals Real over Tito Vilanova’s outfit in Week 4.

“The Coliseum Alfonso Perez is a ground that Barca drop points at,” the new signing from Espanyol enthused today.

“If we do things right, this is a pitch that they can drop points on. We are focused, we have a large group that wants to do things correctly.

“We intend to make things difficult for them. They are one of the best teams in the world, to beat them after the victory here against Real Madrid would be a boost of motivation and pride for this team.

“We’ve just begun the season, but a victory would give us a lot of strength.”

The striker then reflected on his late summer move to the Spanish capital.

“I really wanted to come here. The best thing about coming here is that I can grow as a player.

“Getafe is a club that has no roof, is constantly growing and has good players. This is a unique opportunity to continue to progress and prove that I can assert myself.

“I want to fit in at the dressing room and then look forward on the pitch. The team is very good, we will see if we can win this weekend.

“I arrive here with all the enthusiasm and humility in the world to earn the trust of the Coach and to do my best for this club.

“Espanyol I think will still do fine, players come and go but they have reinforced well. Now I’m in Getafe, I will look to this club.”
