Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reiterated that he is happy at the club, despite further unsettling remarks this week.
The Spain midfielder was said to be unhappy under new boss Tito Vilanova and has been criticised for his difficult start to the season.
However, even as he hit back at those critics in an interview released this morning, he has since also re-stated his happiness at Camp Nou, saying he feels ‘as wanted as anyone’.
“On the street, at the stadium, I feel loved,” he told Barca TV. “I feel as wanted as anyone. I am not worried about anything.
“I am very pleased, and very happy to be at the club. I think I have adapted well to the dressing room and the club in general. The truth is, I am very happy and working hard.
“Last season was positive for me, but I try to be better everyday and play like I know I can.”
The one-time Gunners man then commented on new Coach Vilanova.
“It is all the same training and preparation [as with Pep Guardiola], the only difference is the face that conveys it. Tito is doing very well. He has his own ideas, and the truth is we are all very happy.”
Fabregas then went on to talk about the current five-point advantage his side have over Real Madrid in the La Liga standings.
“It is not an advantage,” he said. “Going ahead should be as natural as going behind. Top teams play the same way whether in good times or bad.
“We just have to go on like we have done, with a positive mindset, which then gives the fans confidence and means we keep on giving 100 per cent.”
He concluded the interview by focusing on the game this weekend against Getafe.
“It will be a very difficult game,” he conceded. “It's a complicated fixture. They defend with 10 men behind the ball, and then hit you on the counter-attack.
“They play their game, and have good players to do it. It will be difficult, but we are confident that we can continue our winning streak.”
