Luis Garcia: Barca make you suffer

Getafe boss Luis Garcia is under no illusions of the challenge Barcelona's visit to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez poses.

The Azulones defeated the Blaugrana 1-0 in the same fixture last season, but the 39-year-old Coach is of the belief that it will be tough to repeat that victory this time around.

“We must be realistic,” he told RAC 1. “People think that because we won last year, we will beat Barca again. We must be clear – it will not be easy.

“It does not mean though, that we can only dream of winning. Barca is a team that usually wins most of its games, but occasionally they draw or lose.

“We are a team that likes to keep the ball and try to take the lead, but we know against a team like Barca, that will be very difficult. Barca make you run, make you suffer, make you feel uncomfortable. They are the only team that can make you change your approach.

“They will come here on full alert, because they lost last year, and we won against Real Madrid two weeks' ago.”

The former Levante man also commented on the news that Andres Iniesta will miss the game through injury.

“It is a shame for the player,” he stated. “But the club have sufficient resources to replace even one of the best midfielders in the world. Cesc Fabregas should come in and give equal amounts to the team.”

Garcia concluded by remarking on the differences between Pep Guardiola and current Blaugrana boss Tito Vilanova, as well as stating the qualities of the Catalan club and their rivals Real Madrid.

“Tito is not the same person as Guardiola. I see some things that are the same, but the essence of Barcelona is above both of them. Nobody can change that.

“Both teams are equally difficult to get a result against. But Madrid do not make you change your style – you have the ball more and feel more comfortable on the pitch.

“Barca, they make you change. They have possession for so long, and they are so precise with their control and passing. It is very difficult to maintain your philosophy against that.”
