Sereno: Valladolid much better now

Real Valladolid are a much better team now than the one that suffered relegation in the 2009-10 season, says Henrique Sereno.

The Portuguese central defender has returned to the Nuevo Jose Zorrilla on loan from Porto after a similar arrangement saw him with El Pucela when they were last demoted three years ago.

Nonetheless, he told the club’s official website that Miroslav Djukic’s squad is better equipped to remain in La Primera this time following last term’s promotion campaign.

“I am happy and I like it here. I already know the workers at the club and now I need to get to know the players, but to be honest they are very kind and are helping me to fit in.

“The main difference to the last time I was at Valladolid is that now we are a team. We are much better.

“Not only are there great players here, but we are also a great team and that is very important.”

Sereno is also pleased he has a Coach in Djukic who he says ‘very much appreciates defensive work’ but knows it will be difficult to force his way into a side that conceded least goals in La Segunda last year.

“I know that Jesus [Rueda] and Marc [Valiente] are great players and are doing very well, but I am working hard every day to try and get myself a place in the starting line-up,” he added.
