Barca set to sign Malaga kid

Barcelona are closing in on agreeing a deal to sign Malaga’s highly-rated 13-year-old Brahim Abdelkader Diaz, for a deal reaching €3m.

Negotiations between the two teams for the youngster, who is considered to be one of the Costa del Sol’s brightest talents in their youth set-up, have been going on for weeks, led by Pep Guardiola’s brother Pere.

The deal had stalled over a disagreement on the initial compensation fee the Catalans would pay – where they offered €50,000, Malaga were holding out for €100,000.

However, Marca report that Barcelona will register the child on their books next week, in anticipation of reaching an agreement with Malaga and having already agreed terms with the player and his family for them to move.

Beyond the compensation fee, it is believed that the Anchovies could receive a total of €3m for the player, depending upon his progression in Catalonia and specifically if he debuts for the senior side in the future.
