Sevilla midfielder Jose Gomez Campana says his side are obliged to try and defeat Real Madrid this weekend.

The 19-year-old youth team product is pleased with the start both he and Sevilla have made to the season but knows something extra is required to maintain their unbeaten record when Jose Mourinho's Merengues come to town on Saturday.

“We must not relax because we have a tough week with the match against Real Madrid,” Campana told AS. “The squad is happy with the start of the season, but, with a little more luck against Rayo Vallecano, it could have been even better.

“We have to go into Saturday and go out to win. We know that they are one of the biggest teams in Spain, and the world, but with the support of our fans, we will try to win.”

The Spain U19 international went on to discuss his recent performance in the 2-1 friendly win against Flamurtari, and where he would prefer to play this season.

“I felt comfortable during the match. The result was good, and I played well individually. The Coach also congratulated me, so I'm very happy.

“I'm back to where I like to play – advanced midfield – and to get minutes in games like this is good. In the second half, I was slightly behind the midfield, but I felt I connected well with my teammates.

“To me, these are not games where you have to fight for the result, but a game to learn from.”
