Lionel Messi has revealed the desire to put right last season remains in place, whilst also reflecting that Tito Vilanova is different to Pep Guardiola.
The Argentine missed a penalty during the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at home to Chelsea, which the Londoners eventually won on aggregate on their way to winning the Cup.
Combined with Real Madrid’s title win, it was a difficult end to last season for Messi, as he reflected today.
“Obviously I would have liked to have won the Champions League and, as always, to have won everything,” he told TVE today.
“The thorn remains for us from not beating Chelsea to get to the final, and for me especially for missing the penalty.”
Messi remembered a similar feeling before Guardiola’s arrival as Coach in 2008.
