Spain leave fans disappointed

Fans of the Spanish national team have been left disappointed today, as a coach transporting the squad refused to let the players sign autographs.

Hundreds of supporters had gathered at Peinador airport in Vigo to welcome La Roja to the city, ahead of their game against Saudi Arabia in the neighbouring town of Pontedvedra.

But the hordes of admirers were left bitterly deflated as the coach picking them up sped directly for the hotel, with many shouting 'out, out, out' at their idols.

Things were made even worse however, once at their hotel, when a smaller group of fans were avoided outside the front of the Pazo Los Escudos, as the squad entered through a side entrance.

When asked about these developments at a Press conference, David Silva defended the team's actions, saying it was standard protocol.

“Whenever we go to the hotel, we have to think solely about the match. We have not had contact with the fans, but in the coming days I'm sure we will.”
