Iniesta misses first Spain session

The Spanish national team have started training ahead of their friendly against Saudi Arabia, with Andres Iniesta missing the first session of the week.

The Barcelona midfielder undertook his own personalised programme consisting entirely of gym work on Tuesday, but will rejoin the rest of the squad as they participate in a double session on Wednesday.

La Roja will face Saudi Arabia on Friday at Estadio Municipal de Pasaron in Pontevedra, before travelling to Georgia four days later to face Temuri Ketsbaia's side in World Cup qualifying.

Tuesday's session saw David Villa, Iker Casillas, Xavi and Pedro take the field early, before the rest of the squad joined them for a brief talk with coach Del Bosque. Fitness work with Javier Minano then kicked off training, before a training match ended proceedings.

Fernando Torres and David Villa bagged goals in the game, that saw the their team beat the likes of Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso and birthday boy Raul Albiol.
